Papercraft Star - Challenge 6 Sketch Inspiration

Hello everyone!

This week at Papercraft Star the designers were challenged to create a project using this sketch

So the first thing I remembered was there is a lattice cut on Wild Card. BINGO that would be perfect.

So I used the two lattice cuts and hid contours on my gypsy (yes I use my gypsy or DS for everything). Then I found a great shape on the storybook cart that would be a good mat for the sentiment.

Supplies used:
Cardstock:
Recollections (Michael's brand paper)
* White Stack
* Kraft Stack
Bazzill
* Patina
Cricut Gypsy
Cartridges used:
* George and Basic Shapes - for the card base
* Wild Card - Lattice cuts
* Alphalicious - thank you
* Storybook - marquee

* Argyle
Ribbon - Celebrate it (Basic-Basic Michael's Ribbon)

Papercraft Star Challenge 5 - Circles

This week at Papercraft Star the design team was asked to use "circles" in their project. Well I wasn't sure what I was going to do with Circles. Then I was playing with my Gypsy and this is what I came up with .....

I just saw the gumball machine and it all came to me after that. This card would be perfect for a little kid's birthday.

I do all of my projects either in DS or on the Gypsy first so that I can cut everything out at one time. Well one of the best things on these programs is the "hide selected contour". I was able to put the gumball machine on the mat and hide all of the cuts except for the gumballs. I then copied the image (with the contours hidden) and put 7 of them on the mat and put my color squares on there and didn't have to waste paper cutting the gumball machine 7 times.

Now hop on over to the Papercraft Star Blog and show us what you did with Circles.

So that really got me thinking ... what is "sports related" that I can create. Then it hit me ... Water sports. Both DH and I love to be on the water and when it's not so darn hot taking the jet ski out to our little island for a picnic lunch. So that was the inspiration for this fun little card.

Papercraft Star Challenge 3

This week over at Papercraft Star the designers were asked to create something using the following sketch

Since I was working on this card July 4th weekend why not keep with the spirit of the holiday (hope you all had a wonderful safe and happy holiday). I decided to make another 4th of July card.

To make the card base I used Vellum and Alcohol Inks. I used Sail Boat Blue and Watermelon. To make it just drop a few drops of one color and move the paper around so it spreads. Then add a few drops of the other color again moving the paper so the drops spread. Continue doing this to get the desired effect that you are looking for.

Supplies used:
Vellum
Cardstock:
White, Blue, Red (any brand will work, just used scraps for this card)
AC Specialty Paper - Foil
* Silver
Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks (Sail Boat Blue and Watermelon)
Martha Stewart Glitter:
Crystal (on the white squares)
Garnet (on the red heart)
Martha Stewart Tinsel
Garnet (on the red squares)
Martha Stewart Metallic Glass Microbeads
Lapis (on the blue squares)
Cricut Gypsy
Cartridges used:
* George and Basic Shapes - for the card base and squares
* Independence Day- for the "4th of July" and the "I {heart} USA"
