It's a Boy!!!

First let me start by saying no I haven't had a baby and no I'm not pregnant. Now that we've gotten that out of the way a friend of ours was pregnant and of course I could have taken the easy way out and gotten her something off of her registry but of course I don't take the easy way out and being that I wanted to get back to crafting after a short hiatus I decided I needed to make something for the baby or his room. After seeing what the baby's room theme would be I knew I just had to make something for the walls.

Baby's mom choose to decorate the room in the Bubbles and Squirt bedding.

So if you notice the pictures on the wall in the left hand side of the picture those kept catching my eye so I decided that I would use those for my inspiration and make a name wall hanging for the baby. Well our friend wasn't going to reveal the baby's name until the baby shower but somehow (still don't know how I managed to convince her to tell me the baby's name but I did. So I decided to come up with this for the baby's room (sorry for the really bad picture ... of course I didn't take a full picture with my regular camera (at least not one I can find at the moment) so I had to use the one from my iPad.

Here are close ups of the letters

I even used real google eyes on some of the sea creatures.

I think by far this little seahorse is my favorite. He's actually kind of popping off the letter and 'floating' there.

This project had so many firsts for me.
* First Big project with my cameo
* First time using modpodge
* First time making wall decor

All of the images are from the Silhouette online store cut from cardstock and modgpodged on to canvas. The letters are cardstock run through the cuttlebug and then the edges were inked and modpodged to the canvas.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and hope you'll stop by again.
