So for my birthday hubby decided it would be fun to go to the circus. So last night we had "date night" and went to see the Ringling Brothers Barnium and Bailey Circus. We saw Zing, Zang, Zoom and boy was it AWESOME. There was a question of whether or not I would be allowed in with my camera and the circus said no "commercial photography" but nothing on their website said anything about personal photography. So I e-mailed them and their response was not much more informative so I e-mailed them a second time asking them about bringing a DSLR camera. Of course their response was not one I wanted to hear, they said if a DSLR camera is a commercial grade camera and they don't typically allow those but to contact the arena and see if security would allow it in. So I did just that and their response was if cameras are allowed at the event we do not make any exclusions based on size. So I was thrilled to be allowed to bring my DSLR with me. So that being said of course my picture for yesterday would have to be one from the circus.
So here is day 16's picture:
I was requsted to post more than just the one picture from the circus ... so out of about 300 pictures (yes I really did take that many :o)) here are a few more pictures.
I highly reccomend if you get the opportunity to see the show that you go. It is well worth it.

So if you remember I mentioned I had another card that couldn't be posted until it was received well it has been delivered so I can post pictures now. This was a thank you card.
Close up of butterfly
This is my first card using the Pagoda cartridge. The patterned paper is DCWV Far East Stack. The Green card is Bazzil paper. The bamboo, butterfly, and flower are on pop dots. The butterfly was also heat embossed with clear powder

Freezer Paper Items
So when ProvoCraft came out with the Yudu I REALLY wanted one ... but come on $199.00 or $299.00 (whatever it was) to make T-Shirts just wasn't logical to me. I don't make that many "painted items" so when I saw the freezer paper method I new this was the perfect solution for me. Kut-n-print (from the cricut MB) daughter did a great tutorial on how to make freezer paper stencils you can find the video here http://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/?s=freezer+paper&searchbutton=Go%21 . I tried some for little gifts and they turned out pretty good for my first try.
The butterflies were made from the Doodlecharms cartridge cut at about 3".
Flowers are from Walk In my Garden Cartridge {I think cut at 3").
This was a special gift as it is a the company logo of a friend of ours. The logo was recreated using basic shapes from George and Basic Shapes.
Ladybugs are from Doodlecharms Cartridge cut at 2" the leaves are from Accent Essentials cut at about 1.5"
Last but not least .....
Flowers are from Storybook Cartridge cut at amoutn 5" with two 2" flowers welded to the large one. Leaves are from Accent Essentials cut at about .5". The butterfly is from the Home Accent Cartridge at about 4".
Thanks for stopping by today!! :o)

So we had another day where I could actually venutre outside so I thought I could see if I could find any defrosted iguannas. They say that the cold weather we have been having has actually frozen the iguannas and they are falling from the trees. I could not find any iguannas but I did find this cute little bird.

So it did warm up today to a whopping 45° so I got to venture outside and get some pictures of the birds that hang out by our tiny little lake. So I thought that would be perfect for today's picture.
So just to show you how cold it has been here ....
So I got home from running errands today and his ears were cold so I took my scarf and wrapped it around his ears. He didn't care for it. He tried to swat it off with his paws and bite the scarf but he tolerated it long enough to let me take his picture ;-)

Monogram Cards
So I know I've been posting a lot of my photography and very little of my cricut/craft projects. Sorry to all my blog readers. I haven't had much time to create lately so I thought I might post some of my "older" stuff.
Last year Diane (aka Capadia) posted an oval appeture card and immediatley thought that they would make really nice monogram cards. So when a family friend was getting married last year and I thought oh these would make a great gift for her bridal shower
I made a matching box as well
The cards were such a hit with the bride that she asked if I could make a set for her to present to her friend who was getting married.
I also made little gift boxes for them
Then my aunt was getting married .... hmmm can we see a pattern here ;-) and made a set for her as well
I then made a set using a name rather than the monogram
I've made a few other sets for people but of course forgot to take pictures. Hmmm guess I have to start remembering to do that.
If you are interested in the cut file please visit Diane's website at (http://capadiadesigns.blogspot.com/)
The cut file post can be found at (http://capadiadesigns.blogspot.com/2008/04/larger-5-x-7-oval-aperture-card.html)

Well I thought today I'd be able to get out and take some outside pictures but it is sooooo COLD and rainy here in S. Florida we are actually under a freeze warning and it snowed just 3 hours away from here today. So hopefully tomorrow I can get out and you won't have to see any more Christmas Decorations ;-D
